Another hectic weekend in Galway club hurling and still with the odd draw or two thrown in! And in case you didnt get to any match, the good news is that there is more to follow this coming weekend! So get out there and support your local club and Galway hurling.

Salthill Hotel Senior Hurling quarter-final Replay
This replay was another tense affair with Loughrea's two early goals proving to be the main difference. The winners now march on to face Turloughmore in the semi-final.
Loughrea 2-10 beat Mullagh 0-13 

Finnerty Plant Hire Intermediate Championship semi-finals
Ahascragh-Fohenagh rally from behind to reach their first ever County Intermediate Final. It will be hard luck for Killimor who, although holding a seven piount lead at one stage, had no answer for the youthful exurberance of their opponents.
In the other semi-final, Killimordaly just edge out Cappataggle in a tight game of hurling, as they aim to do one better than last years final.

Ahascragh-Fohenagh 1-14 beat Killimor 3-5

Senior Hurling Relegation
And then there was three! No team are ever too good to go down, but less than two years after lifting the All-Ireland Club title, Clarinbridge are now one match away from intermediate hurling. Credit to Ardrahan who pulled off a fully committed performance, and got their rewards, not only with the win, but senior status for 2013.
Final round of matches are between Carnmore against Ardrahan, while Liam Mellows play Clarinbridge. One team from Carnmore, Liam Mellows and Clarinbridge to go down.

Pier Head Minor A Hurling Final
This match really came alive in the second half and it tok a last second point from Turloughmore to level it. The sides were level at half time, but then Turloughmore pulled away in the second half. Tommy's came back and actually took the lead with moments remaining. So, another dramatic draw in Galway hurling!
Note: best wishes to Tommy's fullback Christopher Moloney who suffered a bad injury before half-time. All in Galway hurling wish him a speedy recovery.

Pier Head Minor B Hurling Final Replay
Portumna come from behind to outscore their opponennts by 1-6 to 0-0 in the remaining 20 minutes. (See match report in yesterdays news items).
Portumna 2-16 beat St. Thomas 4-6

Intermediate Hurling Shield semi-finals
Noel Lane's Ballindereen continue their impressive recent form as they prove too good for their coastal neighbours, and in the process book their place in this years shield final.
Ballindereen 2-19 beat Oranmore 1-12

Junior 1 Hurling semi-finals
The battle to decide who will represent Galway in this years Connacht Junior Hurling Compeetition will be between Michael Breathnach and Skehana as they both scored impressive wins in their semi-finals.
Michael Breathnach 3-14 beat Ballygar 2-9
Skehana 0-19 beat Salthill-Knocknacarra 2-6

Gullane's Hotel Junior B Hurling Championship quarter-final
Sarsfields reach the last four thanks to this hard fought win over a, as always, spirited Beagh side.
Sarsfields 1-10 beat Beagh 1-8.

Gullane's Hotel Junior C Hurling Championship semi-finals
Athenry proved too strong for TAD, while Meelick-Eyrecourt and Mullagh must battle it out again to earn their place in the final.
Athenry 3-15 beat Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry 0-6
Meelick-Eyrecourt 2-9 drew Mullagh 2-9

Gullane's Hotel Junior C1 Hurling Championship quarter-finals
The impressive Kilbeacanty account for Athenry, while Liam Mellows and Annaghdown play out a draw.
