All to play for in Junior C1 quarters   25/10/2012

With Kilbeacanty safely through to the GULLANE'S HOTEL JUNIOR C1 semi-finals last weekend, the remaining three quarter-finals are down for decision this Bank Holiday weekend.

Ballygar take on Ballinasloe in a game refixd from last week due to Ballinasloe's involvment in the Connacht Junior Football Champoinship in which they had a very convincing win over Leitrim Gaels. We previewed this game last week so i'm not going to repeat what's already said, but one thing stands out and it's the fact that this will be the fifth weekend in a row for some of Ballinasloe's dual players, so fatigue is bound to be an issue. That in mind, Ballygar are waiting in the long grass and may try to take advantage of this and are going to give it one hell of a go. This game takes place in Ahascragh on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Sylane are up against Moycullen in Castlegar. The Moycullen men have had a good run in Group B  finishing impressively in second place. Their Minors are also in action this coming Monday in the B1 Final so things are going well for them right now. Sylane finished fourth in their group with wins over Kinvara and St.Thomas's and will hope to get to a semi-final ahead of their Junior A Clubmates who play their quarter-final on Monday. Both Sylane teams will be hoping to do well this weekend to try and give the parish a lift after what has been a very tragic time for them. I'm sure their opponents Moycullen and Barna-Furbo won't mind if we wish them well under the circumstances.

Finally in the last of the quarter-finals, Annaghdown take on Liam Mellows in a replay after last weeks dramatic draw when it finished Annaghdown 0-10 to Liam Mellows 2-04. Both sides will feel they left it behind or even lucky to get the draw as scores seemed very hard to come by. Sunday's replay in Carnmore should be a cracker and has the potential to go right down to the wire again.
