It was another busy weekend in Galway club hurling with teams exiting and others advancing in their respective championships.

Salthill Hotel Senior Hurling quarter-finals
The big result this weekend was the win by Turloughmore over Portumna in a great game played yesterday. Although the winners shot numerous wides, they managed also to raise more white flags than their opponents. Elsewhere, Mullagh and Loughrea will have to meet again after playing out a thrilling draw, while defending county champions Gort were made work all the way by last years relegation final winners Padraig Pearses. In the fourth match, St. Thomas laid down their credentials on the table with a big win over Castlegar.

Finnerty Plant Hire Intermediate Championship quarter-finals
Last year's beaten finalists Killimordaly looked impressive as they accounted for Kilconieron, while the ever improving Killimor scored a great win over city side Rahoon-Newcastle.

Senior Hurling Relegation
Carnmore kept their survial hopes alive with a narrow one point win over already safe Kiltormer.

Senior Hurling Shield quarter-finals
Kinvara made no mstake second time around with an impressive win over Tommie Larkins. Elsewhere, Sarsfields beat Athenry, Craughwell beat Beagh, while Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry brough an end to Moycullen's season.

Gullane's Hotel Junior A Hurling Championship quarter-finals
Mullagh junior A hurlers scored an impressive win over a fancied Ballygar side in their quarter-final match. Elsewhere, the hurlers of Castelgar and Portumna will have to meet again as they payed out a draw. Note: due to an appeal by Craughwell, the Barna-Furbo v Sylane match was not played

Gullane's Hotel Junior B Hurling Championship Prelim quarter-final
Cappataggle scored a narrow win over St. Thomas as they march on to the quarter-finals, in what was one of the better games of the weekend.
Cappataggle 1-17 beat St. Thomas 0-19.
